Captains of InDustry

They’ve been compared to the Gin Blossoms, Tom Petty, Dawes, and My Morning Jacket. Theirs’ is a genre that will never go out of favor: American rock and roll, done well. Because of that, there’s a certain timeless and universal appeal to the Captains' music—songs that incorporate the influences of many bands that have preceded them, with the end result being somehow familiar, yet entirely and excitingly mew.

The band is made up of vocalist/guitarist Daniel Rodriguez, vocalist/bassist Aaron Kammerer, vocalist/guitarist Jason Fidler, and drummer Drew Spangler. They themselves have played together in various outfits across the many famous stages in the Boston and New England region. But it was only in the summer of 2019 that they decided to come together for some impromptu jamming in bassist Aaron Kammerer’s basement. Almost immediately the band knew they had a sound that could carve out its own space in the current rock and pop landscape.

The Captains recorded and then distributed their debut EP, “So Sweet” in December of 2021. In the year that followed, the first year in which the Captains were truly “out in the wild” so to speak, they (pun intended) capitalized. Multiple songs off So Sweet were featured on 92.5 The River and 88.9 WERS. They have played to sold out crowds at The Burren, The Bebop, The Middle East, The Jungle Community Club, and elsewhere. Their most recent singles include “Get Along Fine” and “My Friend.”

Today, continue to gain momentum, booking gigs in and around Boston on a consistent basis and releasing new songs nearly every month, including a bi-monthly residency at Village Social Club in Brookline Village.
